Text Editing

I can polish and develop your prose for games such as TTRPGS and LARPs as well as your non-fiction and fiction works. Please email kaiya@mirror-lock.com to learn more about working with me.

For copyediting, which includes proofreading for spelling and grammar errors as well as editing for clarity and tone, my rates begin at $0.07/word.

For developmental editing, which includes the above plus identifying pacing issues, inconsistencies, and plot holes and/or ambiguities in game mechanics, my rates begin at $0.12/word.

I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue work on any project that uses AI-generated images or text.

Audio Editing

I am not currently available for audio editing work. The rates below are for reference.

I can provide editing and sound mixing for your podcast or actual-play audio.

For basic editing, which includes basic audio cleanup, audio level adjustments, and inserting or removing large segments such as midroll ads, my rates begin at $50 for up to one hour of recorded raw audio, plus $1 per minute of recorded raw audio beyond the first hour.

For more in-depth editing, which may include removing filler words, reducing unwanted mouth noises, editing content for clarity, and micro-edits to mitigate sharp background sounds, my rates are $30 per hour of my working time. For reference, depending on the extent to which a track needs to be changed, I may spend anywhere between three to ten hours working on one hour of raw audio.

PDF Layout

I can typeset and format your TTRPG or LARP manuscripts into clean and polished PDFs, with decorations to your specifications. Please email kaiya@mirror-lock.com to learn more about working with me.

For short projects such as small TTRPGs, my rates are $5 per finished page if you provide a moodboard or the graphical assets you want me to use, or $8 per finished page if you would like me to design the layout and find graphics that suit the aesthetic of the text. I will send you both a full-color version and a printer-friendly version of the final product, in addition to any graphical assets that may be helpful for decorating a website, such as screenshots of individual pages to be displayed on Itch.io. Upon request I can also send the working file (in .afpub format) so that you may make any necessary version changes in the future without needing to go through me.

For longer projects such as LARPs, my rates are $15 per individual section (e.g. one character sheet or bluesheet), which includes light editing work to catch any last-minute inconsistencies or typos. There is no charge for the cover, credits/colophon, or table of contents. I will send you a zipped set of individual PDFs of each sheet, with cross-file hyperlinks as appropriate. Unless otherwise specified in the initial consultation, the final product will be black-and-white only (excluding the cover) for ease of printing.

I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue work on any project that uses AI-generated images or text. All art and graphics sourced by me will always be public-domain, royalty-free for commercial use, or custom illustrated specifically for your project, and their provenance will be clearly marked in the credits.

Voice Acting

I can provide voiceovers and character voices for your podcast, radio drama, or promo videos. I may also be available for audiobook narration on a limited basis. Please email kaiya@mirror-lock.com to learn more about working with me.

My rates depend on the length and complexity of the project. For short projects, I record three takes per line for you to choose from, and offer one round of re-recording free of charge if needed. After you select the takes that you prefer, I can also edit them together and perform basic audio cleanup free of charge.
